Wurth Electronics has released a full series of power factor correction chokes to the market. The great advantage of this family is the ability to work with standard off-the shelf components. This inductor series can be used for active PFC designs with up to 250 W power supplies. Würth Electronics WE-PFC series is suggested in the reference design of the leading IC manufacturers. Typically, the WE-PFC chokes are used in AC/DC power supplies with active PFC, such as those found in the lighting industry.
