ADM487E RS-485/RS-422 Transceiver
Analog Devices ADM487E RS-485/RS-422 Transceiver is a 5V low-power data transceiver that offers ±15kV ESD protection. Designed for balanced data transmission and compliant with TIA/EIA standards RS-485 and RS-422, the transceiver is suitable for half-duplex communication on multi-point bus transmission lines. The ADM487E provides a 1/4 unit load receiver input impedance. The input impedance allows up to 128 transceivers on a bus. Since only one driver is enabled at a given time, the output of a disabled or power-down driver is three-stated to prevent overloading the bus. ADM487E's driver outputs are slew-rate-limited to reduce EMI and data errors due to reflections from improperly terminated buses. A thermal shutdown circuit prevents excessive power dissipation caused by bus contention or output shorting.Learn More
