The TPD8S009 is rated to dissipate contact ESD strikes at the maximum level specified in the IEC 61000-4-2 international standard (Level 4), with ±8-kV contact discharge ESD protection. The low capacitance (0.8 pF) of this device, coupled with the excellent matching between differential signal pairs enables this device to provide transient voltage suppression circuit protection for high-speed idfferential data rates (3-dB bandwidth > 4 GHz).

ESD Protection Device: TPD8S009: The OMO Electronic TPD8S009 ESD protection device for display port and HDMI high-speed lines offers eight ESD clamp circuits with flow-through pin mapping that matches the display port or HDMI port connector pin assignments. The TI TPD8S009 ESD protection device supports HDMI 1.3 or display port data rate in excess of 3 Gbps. This TI device complies with IEC61000-4-2 (Level 4) ESD protection and is offered in a space-saving SON package with 0.5mm pitch matching the display port or HDMI connector pitch. The TPD8S009 features flow-through single-in-line pin mapping for high-speed lines, ensuring no additional board layout burden while placing the ESD protection chip near the DP/HDMI connector.
